Selection Sunday, Monday picks revealed

The wait is over for basketball fanatics all over the nation. Last Sunday, otherwise known as Selection Sunday, marked the beginning of the biggest college basketball tournament in the NCAA: March Madness.

The NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Committee revealed their top 68 picks among college basketball teams all over America on Sunday. While Kansas State University landed an 11 seed having to play in one of the first four play-in games, here’s just a glimpse of how the other men’s teams fared this year:

Villanova, Kansas, North Carolina and Gonzaga all landed one seeds while Kentucky, Arizona, Duke and Louisville all came in with two seeds. The three seeds are Oregon, Florida State, UCLA and Baylor with Butler, Florida, West Virginia and Purdue coming in as four seeds.

As for the Women’s basketball teams, which were released Monday, Kansas State received a seven seed and will be hosting the first and second round of the tournament. Here are the top four seeds on each side of the bracket for Women’s:

UCONN, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Baylor all received one seeds, while Mississippi State, Oregon State, Sanford and Duke all got two seeds. The three seeds are Maryland, Texas, Florida State and Washington with Louisville, Miami, Kentucky and UCLA gaining the four seeds for the tournament.
