Chiefs, Raiders good for NFL Week Two

Going into Week 2 in the National Football League, I can already predict that the Chiefs and the Raiders are going to be two huge teams to look out for.

According to the media, Week 1 of the NFL was a success. We saw some unexpected wins and loses starting with the Kansas City Chiefs at the New England Patriots. At first, I thought that the Patriots were going to win, considering that they’re the defending champions from the 2016 season and their roster hasn’t changed significantly. In the first quarter, Kareem Hunt had a fumble. But, after the second half, he came up with 246 total yards and one touchdown. Also, Alex Smith threw for 368 yards and four touchdowns. The final score was 42-27 with the Kansas City Chiefs winning. At the beginning, I definitely was not expecting the Patriots to get beat that badly. I feel like Tom Brady is one of the most skilled quarterbacks in the league and the Patriots were actually the first to score in the game. It was very surprising to a lot of football fans. I’m predicting that if the Chiefs keep playing elite teams and beating them, they are without a doubt going to the playoffs.

The next matchup that caught my eye was the Oakland Raiders at the Tennessee Titans. At the beginning I thought that the Raiders would win. Two minutes and 50 seconds into the first quarter Amari Cooper caught a pass from Derek Carr that resulted in a touchdown. My impression from Carr’s Week 1 performance is that he’s gonna be one of the best this season. He’ll be a player to watch for. Last year, Derek Carr had 3,937 passing yards and I’m guessing that he’ll do even better this year. The Raiders’ away schedule this year looks pretty easy based on the stats from the other teams’ Week 1 performances. Not only do they have threats like Derek Carr, they also have Amari Cooper and Marshawn Lynch. Amari Cooper received 1153 yards last year and Marshawn Lynch just got added to the Raiders roster. I’m going to predict that he’s gonna rack up a lot of touchdowns and yards. Last season, Marshawn Lynch retired from the NFL after his contract was concluded. But Marshawn wanted to come back to play a few more years so he became a free agent and the Raiders signed a two-year $9 million deal with him.

In the first week of the NFL season, the best and most prepared teams are the Chiefs and Raiders based on stats. The two teams also have a rivalry with each other and will face off in Week 7 and Week 14. I’mI’m very excited to see which team is gonna come out on top in both of the matchups.
