Trick-or-Treats to chomp into

Halloween is notorious for its sweet treats and delicious foods. Some foods are more in season than others, and they become more readily available. Listed below are treats and drinks that come around for fall and Halloween.

  1. Candy corn. You either love it or hate it, but it’s pure sugar and sports the colors of fall.
  2. Caramel apples. Braces beware, this treat might be a little tricky for you. Bobbing for apples is a Halloween tradition, but add caramel and some nuts and you have a delicious caramel apple. It also makes you feel slightly less guilty for eating something sweet. There’s a fruit somewhere underneath all that sugar.
  3. Apple Cider. Breaking away from the food groups, apple cider is a perfect drink to keep you warm while also staying true to the fall season. The combination of the apple flavor and spices makes for a savory drink.
  4. Oreos. With a variety of different flavors, Oreo feeds off of the fall foods that people know and love. Featured flavors include pumpkin spice, caramel apple and more. Of course, you can always stick with the original flavor.
  5. Pumpkin Pie. Pumpkins are in their prime, especially in October. Pumpkin pie is a classic when it comes to Thanksgiving, but is also good for a special treat. Add some whipped cream and it makes it even better.
  6. Pumpkin Seeds. This requires a little time to make, but some people swear by them. So, while you’re carving your pumpkins and gutting all the seeds, save them for a different treat.
  7. Pumpkin Spice Anything. Pumpkin spice is everywhere you turn. Coffee, pastries and other random snack items. Whether it’s a latte or a muffin, pumpkin spice will encompass the next few months while it can.
  8. Hot Chocolate. It is finally cold enough to justify drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Although it is a good drink year round, hot chocolate is a perfect alternative for non-coffee drinkers who want to stay warm.
