Hot Milk a band that was created in 2019 and is releasing a new album Jun 27 called “Corporation P.O.P.” The songs on the album that are currently out are “Swallow This”, “90 seconds to Midnight” and “Insubordinate Ingerland.” The genre of this album would be hard rock.
“Swallow This” starts with synth and bass to get the pace of the song moving before the drums and guitar jump in. The singers are a big contrast between male and female voices that go from yelling to quiet singing. The lyrics talk about needing to accept terms to be a part of everything, of swallowing this to coexist. The song does have a strong beat and goes from quiet to loud often. There is an echo on the voices throughout the whole song.
“90 seconds to midnight” has a big instrumental part in the very beginning before the lyrics actually begin. The lyrics start out with the female singer and that part is enjoyable to hear the contrast between the male and female singers. The song is mostly sung by the male and the female doing back ups. The drum is vital in this piece and there is some notable block like cow bell in the back keeping the beat. The guitar is also very vital to the piece. The meaning of the lyrics describes a revolt.
“Insubordinate Ingerland” starts with synth and some different sound effects. Then it breaks into the main melody with the guitars and drums. The vocals in this song are very different compared to the other two songs in this album. Their vocals do a good mix between male and female with an echo type of sound. The lyrics talk a lot about drinking and how it is a part of a culture and you should fall to peer pressure and join in.
The album will have a total of 14 songs Jun 27. Songs will continue to slowly be released to hype up the album. I recommend that you give Hot Milk a listen because it is pretty pop and rock friendly. The top songs of the album are “Swallow This” and “90 Seconds So Midnight” but my favorite is “Insubordinate Ingerland.” If you are looking for something new and fresh, Hot Milk is just for you. They may not have very many songs out yet but they have collaborated with many bands like You Me at Six, Deaf Havana and Foo Fighters. Hot Milk’s debut EP was “Are You Feeling Alive?” Which quickly claimed the heart of many.
