‘Predatorial.’

Internet safely is definitely something that has been emphasized in recent years as computer technology has advanced. However, these advancements have only made it easier for younger, vulnerable individuals to access it and to be targeted by malicious individuals. Thanks to the dark web, cases of kidnapping and sex trafficking have occurred all over the globe. One infamous case revolves around the “Black Death Gang,” infamous for the 2017 kidnapping of British model Chloe Ayling. Lukasz Pawel Herba, a 30-year-old Polish man, was supposedly involved with this dark web allegiance and planned to sell Ayling to Arabs who would “feed her to tigers when the got bored of her.” Luckily, Ayling was rescued, and Herba was arrested and prosecuted. This is only one of hundreds, maybe even thousands of criminal cases that originate straight from the dark web. It is important that we protect our peers from letting their curiosity drive them to investigating the dark web.
