Story By Levin Nickerson

Jonathan Moon is a senior and staff writer for the MHS student newspaper. A native of Manhattan, he initially joined the publication as a “filler class,” drawn by the idea of doing something that “looks good on the resume.” Despite his initial reason, he has since found value in the experience and describes his time in the program as “pretty cool.”

Moon has a clear plan for his future. He intends to attend K-State for psychology and then continue on to get his master’s degree at KU. He hopes to one day work as a clinical psychologist, a field he knows requires a lot of schooling.

“A bachelor’s doesn’t really get you anywhere, so you have to do your master’s, which is about six years,” Moon said, acknowledging the long road ahead.

Outside of school, Moon enjoys eating pizza and sushi. He is also an avid fan of both sports and music. While he has no pets, he hopes to one day get a Labradoodle. His favorite academic subject is Big History, and he is currently taking several college level classes through K-State, including Intro to Psychology, Algebra, and Communications.
