With the new school year comes new agendas, as seen in last week’s mass scheduling of club meetings.

The Business Professionals of America was one of those clubs and had their first-ever meeting during FlexTime in Advisory.

Several different sophomores joined BPA this year. This meeting was a chance for new and returning members to remember or learn about what BPA is really about.

“[The meeting was] a welcome back and kind of an explanation of what BPA is,” senior Hannah Higgins said. “[Now] people know what their responsibilities are going to be for the first semester.”

BPA usually has officers of the club, such as Higgins, who was Vice President last year. However, they have not had elections yet this year.

BPA club has several things planned for this year. Their state competition is in February, where they will see who qualifies for Nationals in Washington D.C., which will take place in May. According to Higgins, because these trips can be costly for students, BPA is planning on doing several fundraisers throughout the year in preparation.

The next BPA meeting is planned for Oct. 13.
