Girls tennis recently finished their regular season and are preparing for the postseason. The team has a lot of courage going into League and plans on making it to State. Seniors Jaqueline Hsu and Keylee Schartz have strong goals to make it to State and have high chances doing so.
“Our goal is to make it to state,” Hsu said.
Hsu and Schartz have been a strong duo all season and have been placing high in every meet. Their chemistry on the court placed them third in doubles with a record of 3-1. “For me and Keylee I think we have been getting better at being louder on the court, because we are both kind of quiet,” Hsu said.
Hsu and Schartz have been playing tennis for many years and are very experienced. They both believe one of the best things to be better at tennis is to have fun with the sport because it makes them more confident and less likely to panic.
“Just have fun with it,” Hsu said. “It’s our senior year.”
For the seniors, since it is their last season they have more courage then ever. The seniors have gotten first place in multiple meets and have been in very close matches with tough competitors.
“We played really well, even though we lost the match to Washburn, but it was close,” Hsu said. “I think we did best at Kossover.”
Keylee and Hsu are big influences and leaders for the team. They support each other and others any chance they get and encourage one another during matches.
“For me and Keylee I think we are doing super good and for others I think they are doing great but there is always room for improvement,” Hsu said.
