Spanish Club salsa dances

Wednesday during tribe time, Spanish Club got together in the North Gym and started salsa dancing their hearts out. Isaac Falcon, 31-year-old professional dancer, was the dance instructor of last week’s dance.

“One thing I like about salsa, is that it brings everybody together from all around the world and different parts of life,” Falcon said. “The classes I teach at K-State, I have students, military members, older couples from the community, and professors who come to take the lessons.”

The dance instructor has been dancing since he was 15 years old, and first got into it by watching salsa dance performers at a quinceañera in Kansas City.

“They gave a little lesson in the party, and then I tried it and I loved how they performed, and I always wanted to do that, so that’s how I got into it,” Falcon said.

Sophomore Niza Rangel, one of the many members who danced, enjoyed the salsa dance a lot.

“Everybody was like participating together, and we were just having fun as a group,” Rangel said.

“I get the opportunity to teach in high school, so I love that,” Falcon said.
