Denver punk band shreds in new single

The Internet has become the easiest and fastest way for small bands and musicians to network and gain fans. This is just as true for Denver punk band “The Ephinjis.” After I was introduced to them when I visited Denver last spring, this small trio of rockers gained a permanent fan, and they have not disappointed with their newest single coming from their EP, which will be released later in November. The band is unsigned and has a small following, but can still pump out amazing rock songs with the best of them

The single is called “The Beast,” and right away, you get the vibe from the song that this is what the Ephinjis brand of punk is. Ivan Armendariz’s vocals are clear and bright, easily carrying the tune of this fast-paced punk song. It is easy to tell that these guys get their inspiration from classic punk, but also the greats of the genre like Green Day and The Offspring. Ivan shreds on guitar while his brother Christian Armendáriz crushes it on drums. And the best part? Female bassist Alexandra Flynn, who absolutely kills it and brings the backing vocals that help complete the song. The instrumental is incredible, and it is really what sets the tone of this song. This is a song that makes me want to grab my friends and just go destroy things.

The band describes themselves as one with “brutally honest lyrics and relentless sound,” which is clear in “The Beast.” I can’t wait to hear more from these three, and the day will soon come when we’ll be hearing the Ephinjis out of our own speakers.
