Student Council prepares for annual blood drive

Students and community members alike are preparing to donate their blood to help people all over the nation for Student Council’s annual fall blood drive.

With a goal of surpassing the amount of blood collected last year — which was roughly around 65 pints — co-chairs Meg Mankin and Adelaide Bliss, seniors, took to the community for donations.

“Recently, we started posting [donation sign-ups] online more so that not only high schoolers, but also people in the community could come and donate,” Mankin said. “At least 30 percent of our scheduled donors are adults from the community.”

With people all over America needing blood transfusions, StuCo has made it its mission to contribute as much as possible.

“[The purpose of the drive is] to support the American Red Cross and encourage high school students to continue to donate,
