The Heist Society book series is back with a new book. “The Grift of the Magi” is the fourth book in the series, The Heist Society, written by Ally Carter.

Katarina is a thief, that steals valuable works of art to return them to their rightful home. “The Grift of the Magi” starts out with Katarina being asked for help. A charity was set to auction off a rare and valuable Fabergé egg, two days before Christmas. But the egg has been stolen and now the charity’s reputation could be ruined. So now Katarina and her family have to figure out who stole the egg because whoever did, stole Christmas.

The book is a definite page turner, which leaves you wanting to know more. Before reading this book I suggest reading the previous books in the series because they give additional background information of characters and settings. If you don’t read the previous books then this book may be confusing at times.

Ally Carter is a New York Times Best Selling Author, she has written many other books and wanted to write about a heist to explore a different genre. She published the first book of the series in 2010. The Heist Society has been on 2011 Texas Lone Star Reading List, 2010 YALSA Teens Top Ten Book, 2010-2011 North Carolina Book Award Booklist, Teens Top 10 Finalist, 2010.

Overall the newest book in the series, “The Grift of the Magi”, is a great book and should be read. It will leave you wanting another book in the series.
