Madeyln Cook, Photographer

Junior Madeyln Cook is a photographer new to the Mentor staff. Cook has experience in photography and publications, working for her yearbook at her old school.

“At my old school I did a lot with photography and the yearbook, and I’m really interested in it,” Cook said.

Photography is a hobby of Cook’s, and she hopes to improve her skills within the class.

“I love going out and taking pictures of creeks or random things in nature,” Cook said, “so I thought it would be really fun to get more experience in what I like doing.”

Cook became interested in photography from the idea of capturing the moment and being able to remember the moment.

“I know that like ‘live in the moment’ is a really big thing but still it’s really cool to not only live in the moment but to also relive the moment in the future,” Cook said.

Cook also took up crocheting after a friend of hers recommended it.

“One of my friends was like ‘I have to teach you’ and ever since...I’ve been trying to learn,” Combs said.

Cook hopes to continue her love of photography and explore it as a career option in the future.

“I would like [to] further my love for photography and get more in touch with it [and I’m] wanting to do more in the future,” Cook said, “because I kind of really enjoyed photography as a hobby but I’d like to explore it more as like a career option.”
