Nimrod Eshar

Attacking-Mid, right behind the striker.

Around eight years.

The soccer team got its first win this week against Shawnee Heights, aided in part by junior Nimrod Eshar. Eshar was involved in both Manhattan goals. He said it was a relief to finally score.

“Well it’s stressful not to get any goals, or not to be scoring or involved in scoring, and it just sets a huge pressure off your back, knowing, ‘Yes, I can do this.’ It sets the bar higher.”

Eshar assisted on the first goal, and scored the second goal of the game. Manhattan tripled its goal total in the game, scoring only one goal before hand.

“It was a huge relief,” Eshar said. “So getting to be involved in both of the goals last week was really relieving and great for the team.”

What was going through your mind when you got the goal and assist?

It was a huge relief, we only had one goal in our first four games, and so getting to be involved in both of the goals last week was really relieving and great for the team.

How does it feel to help break the scoring drought?

Well it’s stressful not to get any goals, or not to be scoring or involved in scoring, and it just sets a huge pressure off your back, knowing, ‘Yes, I can do this, yes let’s.’ It sets the bar higher. Maybe next time get even better.
