Boys soccer falls to Derby

Manhattan High boys soccer lost their match against Derby on Monday 5-2. The match was postponed from its original date on Sept. 10 due to weather. The team is now at 6-1-5 with three games left until the postseason.

The boys went up 1-0, and ended the half still ahead at 2-1; with goals from senior Micheal Ohler and sophomore Cade Cameran — his first Varsity goal. Things went downhill in the second, however, with Derby scoring four goals in the last twenty minutes to win. This is the first match Manhattan has lost by more than three goals this season.

They travel to Highland Park on Thursday. The Celtics have never been a difficult opponent, and Manhattan has taken the win in every match for the past five years, twice by mercy rules.
