Don’t Worry, Be Happy

So, it’s finally the end of the year. We made it.

For me, the senioritis hit around the middle of March. By the time April was over, I was so done with everything. The end of the year always brings many different challenges, but this is my senior year, so everything is twice as hectic.

It’s overwhelming, honestly. I’ll have to say goodbye to my friends and teachers. I’ll be going to college this fall, and I’ll be thrown into an entirely new situation all on my own. I’ll be away from my family, and I won’t know anyone there. In all honesty, I’m scared of what the future brings.

However, I’m also excited because I have faith in myself. After all, I’ve been working hard for this. I am the first in my family to go to university. I will get my degree, and I’ll go into filmmaking like I’ve wanted to for years now. I can’t let my fears and anxiety get in the way of achieving my goals.

You also can’t let any of that get in the way of what you want to achieve. Either everything seems like it’s all crashing down, or you’re past caring about it. Whatever you’re feeling about school, or life, or whatever, take a deep breath. You’ll be okay. Focus on what you want. Get back on track.

Know that you can get where you want to be. Know that you have to work for it. Know that it’ll be challenging, but I promise you’ll be able to do it. Goodbye for now, my friends. May the future be kind to you.
