The Indians Varsity Volleyball Teamwent 2-1 at their home quad on Oct. 11, beating Hayden and Lawrence but dropping a match to Washburn Rural.

This game was the pink-out for breast cancer awareness. Each girl decorated a pumpkin that was auctioned off before the last match of the night. Before their last match of the night.

The Special Olympics Volleyball Team was given the opportunity to play for 5 minutes before Varsity’s last match of the night. They qualified to compete in Europe and have never been able to play in front of a home crowd do the Varsity team wanted to provide Special Olympics with that opportunity.

“It felt good to win two games because we have worked hard in parctice to improve,” junior Ellie Wilson, outside hitter, said. “After we won those games I was happy because we have all put lots of time and effort into making practices effective and transferring what we work on in practice to games.”

Next week is SubState, as well as Senior Night on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Through the week they will have themed practices to have fun while preparing for their Substate match against Derby. Even with the fun they will still buckle down and serious to prepare for their substate match against Derby.
