The Manhattan High football team opened up their post season vs. Wichita North on Friday beating them in a 71-7 blowout.

MHS started the game off strong as seniors Keenan Schartz, Deandre Aukland and Jason Sanchez rushed for six touchdowns and 218 yards in the first half. The MHS defense did not hold back as they only allowed one touchdown in the first half as they finished out the half 57-7.

The MHS JV team came out to start the second half and they looked very strong and held a good future for the MHS team as they scored two touchdowns thrown from sophomore quarterback Carter Aslin. The defense kept their pressure on North as they allowed zero points to close out the game 71-7.

“We spend a tremendous amount of time watching film and preparing for our opponents,” Schartz said, “and I think that’s why we’re more successful than others.”

Manhattans next game is vs. Wichita East on Friday at Bishop Stadium.
