German Club Advent calendars sell out

Manhattan High School’s German Club wrapped up a successful Advent calendar sale after selling approximately 70 calendars to the MHS community. The group began selling calendars for $3 each in mid-November and they sold out two weeks later.

According to the German Club President, junior Ryan Thein, the profits will benefit the club’s future endeavors.

“German Club has a couple of unique expenses in the spring of second semester,” Thein said. “Everybody in the German program will take a national German exam… and we also go to an event called Schülerkongress, which is a kind of convention for German students all over Kansas.”

Despite a slight price increase from last year’s calendars, the club’s sales exceeded last year’s numbers. Thein expects the German Club to increase its stock of Advent calendars for future sales.
