FCCLA members fundraise for Disney

FCCLA members seniors Connor Andresen, Taylor Hatch and Alyssa Camfield and juniors Madilyn Sanchez and Charlotte Chilton are raising money for the Cook Around The World culinary competition. The competition is set to take place in Orlando at the Walt Disney World Resort in April. Now through Jan. 30, the fundraiser is selling strawberries where you can buy a quarter flat, half flat or a full flat.  

“This event per person is costing [FCCLA members] about $2,000 a person,” sponsor Heide Rippert said. “With flights right now it’s pretty expensive. The rest of the cost includes an improved event where they may be able to talk to the guest celebrity chef, hotel fees and their three-day park hopper tickets for disney.”

FCCLA students are attending the ProStart competition through the Kansas Restaurant Association on Feb. 28-March 1 where they will compete in Wichita.
