Manhattan High School Asian Student Union members collaborated with Kansas State Unitveristy’s ASU at an event from 3:30- 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Apr 19, at the Manhattan Sunset Zoo. The social was a get together for the clubs to see the new Expedition Asia exhibit.

“This collaboration has been something we’ve been working on all year,” Co-President Minhee Koo, senior, said.

K-State’s ASU reached out to MHS’s ASU around late March to see if they were interested in hosting a social and joining their group for next year collaborations. ASU took a tour around the zoo with the main focus being the Asia exhibit.

“We saw the new animals in the Asia exhibit like the sloth bear, red pandas, panthers and tigers,” Treasurer Patrick Fu, sophomore, said.

Most officers were at the social along with a few other members from the general ASU group.

“I really enjoyed getting to interact with the KSU ASU,” Fu said. ”In the past we haven’t had that much connection with other ASU’s in our area. I really enjoyed it.”

ASU plans to wrap up their year with elections on Tuesday and cultural potluck with other organizations on Friday.
