Manhattan High’s Environmental Club has been keeping busy while wrapping up the school year.

The styrofoam survey they conducted back earlier this month allowed data to be collected about the school’s styrofoam waste.

“We have taken a look at that data and hopefully soon we’ll have a meeting with the admin,” club president Allie Cloyd, junior, said. “[We hope] to talk about some of the proposed solutions and look for alternatives to styrofoam.”

The club also talked at the recent school board meeting about what they have done this year.

“There were elementary schools, middle schools represented and then we were sort of showing those opportunities within the high school,” Cloyd said. “It is important that we continue to put an emphasis on environmental educational opportunities throughout the whole district.”
