Students Engage in Online Testing

This past month, students began taking standard admission tests online for the first time. Most notably, sophomores and juniors took the PSAT.

“There was a big learning curve for the digital PSAT,” district testing coordinator Shannon Molt said. “Our technology department got involved in the Spring of 2023 to ensure that we would be able to handle a large number of students testing as well as ensuring that our testing devices were ready for the new testing platform.”

Students utilized an app called BlueBook, designed by CollegeBoard, to take their exams. Unlike traditional paper-pencil testing in a large testing auditorium or gym, the exams were administered in separate classrooms. This, combined with a brief pre-testing agenda, resulted in a far more efficient experience for students on test day.

In the future, Molt anticipates that AP exams and the ACT will shift to an online format.
