Equestrian Club Starts Up at MHS

Equestrian Club gives students an opportunity to learn about horses and riding with the new club starting at Manhattan High School. A chance to learn about horses and riding, from the riding styles to horse anatomy. Equestrian Club partnered with Hope Ranch, the club senior Vice President Sarah Scheele has ridden at her whole life.

“I know the president [of the club], Savannah Price, through the barn,” Scheele said. “So I kind of got connected that way.”

Susan Wolf is the sponsor of the club and is a gifted facilitator at MHS. “…One of my students, she had the idea and started the club.” Wolf said.

Meetings are every other Wednesday after school in room E-009. Currently, they’re learning about the parts of a horse and the basics of riding.

“It’s open to anyone,” Scheele said. “Everyone is welcome to join.”
