After a lull in meets, the Manhattan High School girls swim and dive team is preparing for the Centennial League Meet, this Friday at Capitol Federal Natatorium in Topeka. League marks the team’s last chance to make time cuts to secure a spot swimming at the 6A State meet.
Throughout the season, the team has showcased their hard work and determination leading up to this time. As the team approaches this important competition, they continue to focus on refining their techniques and building on what they as a team and individually do best. The support from coaches, teammates, and the Manhattan community remains a cornerstone of their preparation and motivation.
The Centennial League Meet is to be a highly competitive meet, going against schools like Washburn Rural and Seaman who also have strong teams. However, the Indians are poised to make a significant impact, aiming to secure top finishes and qualify for the state championships.
As the season comes to an end, the Manhattan High School girls swim and dive team continues to emphasize the values of hard work and sportsmanship. This year’s seniors encourage students to join next year.
“You don’t need any experience if you want to join the team,” senior Kenna Mason said. “I joined because my friends were joining and it looked fun. I’m super happy I did because I love this team, what and who it’s brought me during my highschool years.”
