Question: What do you think of start and end times moving up 20 minutes for next school year?
Lucas Gish, freshman
“It’s awful. I have clubs after school and I don’t have time to come home and eat before my next club. So it makes it really hard for time management and it’s just really inconvenient for all of the people who do lots of clubs. So I think that the elementary school and the high school start times should be switched.”
Tyce Schmidt, junior
“I’m doing early release, so it doesn’t really matter to me for the later end times, because I’ll just go and work more hours and stuff. I’m glad that we’re starting a little bit later, just because I don’t have to get up as early my senior year.”
Adalie Chandler, senior
“My mom’s a teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. I know she’s upset about it, because pushing back the times would make her not get off of work until 3:50. And she also does after school activities, so I think she’s upset that she would have to stay way longer.”
Jason Roberts, sophomore
“I think it’s great for high schoolers, because we can actually get more sleep and we can be more productive in our day. It makes sense since we are the highest functioning [of the school levels] and we are about to be adults”
Piper Dawdy, freshman
“I appreciate it, because then I can get more sleep. It’s better for the high school as a whole, because you feel less stressed because you have more time.”
