IPS goes on lunch dates

A group of students from Manhattan High went on lunch dates to Longhorn Steakhouse Thursday, but they were not just any kind of date.

The Interpersonal Skills students were assigned to invite somebody out from the class for the event.

”The purpose of the event was for IPS kids learn to be responsible with asking their date out, dressing nicely and act with good manners. It was a really good experience for everyone” IPS student aid Brooke Lindsey said.

Students had a lot a fun and a nice afternoon with their dates.

“We were supposed to ask them out in a cool way, order for ourselves,” sophomore Brant Wall said

“There are more guys than girls in the classroom so some of the guys had to have two dates. Still we had a lot of fun,” Wall said.

This was a way to show IPS students that they are capable of doing anything.

“We had lots of fun,” Rachel Efken said

Students got the chance of going out on a formal date, so when they want to ask somebody out they already know how to do it and there is nothing stopping them from doing it.
