  • Sophmore Meganne Morrand gets tagged out during the Drill Down for Marching Band Camp. “When you get tagged out it is because you do something wrong, you did not recover fast enough, or there just happens to be an [band] instructor behind you.” recalled Morrand.

  • During the Drill Down the students moved in a certain way according to the marching band director, Joe Gittle. The maneuvers used at the drill down relate to the half time show preformed at the home football games in the fall.”Most of them [maneuevers] do. The forward marching and backward marching, four count turns and flanks come in a lot [in the half time show].” said Meganne Morrand.

  • Senior Sara Nelson and junior Cecilia Erker preform as a part of the Drill Down on July 31. The Drill Down was at Bishop Stadium and parents and families were encourgaed to join. By attending the Drill Down the parents could see what their children had learned at Band Camp in the weeks leading up to the event.

  • The students involved in the the Drill Down preformed a series of maneuers and turns. When the students messed up or did not recover fast enough the students got tagged out by the judges. “Fast recovery is alway the key to looking good. Because the faster you recover the less likely it is that someone will it the mistake and catch it.” said sophmore Meganne Morrand.
