It’s another busy weekend for Manhattan High sports, but the postseason has raised the stakes. Here’s what’s going on for the Indians this weekend.

  • The football team hosts Washburn Rural tonight at 7 p.m. in the team’s final game of the season.
  • The sixth-seeded volleyball team competes at the State tournament today at the Topeka Expocentre, with its first match slated for 4:30 p.m. against Washburn Rural. After that, the team faces off against Blue Valley West at 5:30 p.m., followed by its final match of the day at 7:30 p.m. against Blue Valley Northwest. All of Manhattan’s matches will be played on Court B at the Expocentre. If you aren’t taking the fan bus, parking will cost five dollars per car.  If the team makes it out of its pool, the first match on Saturday will begin at 10 a.m.
  • The cross country team will compete at State on Saturday at Rim Rock in Lawrence. The girls’ race will begin at 11:30 a.m., while the boys’ race is scheduled a for 1:45 p.m. start time.
