Just keep digging

Can we publish an article of questions? That would be great. I have a lot.

Is it a big world or a small world? How much should you rely on others? How do you change? How do you build relationships? How much should you expose yourself?

Living with questions is weird. You’re stuck in suspense, because don’t know who you are and where you stand. You’re kind of paused, unsure of where you are going.

Because you don’t know anything your only option is to hunt for solutions. This is not glamourous. It basically means sifting on your hands and knees for a pearl that you know is somewhere in this dirt patch. It takes a long time.

I think searching for answers is important though.

It’s better to live your life in agonizing search and find the truth than to wallow in safe, familiar lies. Lies are like that one TV show you know isn’t very good but that is easier to watch than to do anything else.

I also think that there is something about the truth we crave instinctively. Truth resonates somewhere deep, and when we are desperate, with nothing to else to pad heartbreak, we cling to the truth like a lifeline. Truth saves us.

So if your fingers are grimy with dirt because you’re scrounging around on your knees, don’t give up. The truth is worth the toil.  And anyone who really looks will find it.
