Bowling takes another loss

The Manhattan High bowling team dealt with a meet cancellation last week from the harsh weather conditions and this week they had to deal with a loss.

“It was rough. There were a lot of newcomers, but it was not as bad as I expected it to be,” sophomore Riley Taylor said.

The home meet at Little Apple Lanes consisted of Shawnee Heights, Emporia, Junction City and Manhattan and it did not go so swell for the Manhattan boys and girls. The boys placed third out of fourth and the girls placed fourth out of fourth.

Individually, however, some members fared better. Junior Dustin Wichman scored a 773 and placed first for the boys individually. Senior Andrea Miller placed fifth for the girls individually.

The bowlers are looking ahead to their next meet Thursday at Junction City.

“I’m mildly prepared for the next meet,” Taylor said.
