Bowling team needs help before Regionals

After a disappointing loss in bowling a couple weeks ago at home, coaches told the athletes to not even come to practice the next day because of the results of the meet.

Since then, the Manhattan High bowling team has tried to put on their A-game at every meet, but unfortunately their scores have been fluctuating back and forth between good and bad.

“We have improved a lot since [the Topeka quad on Feb. 8],” senior Andrea Miller said.

The last meet that the bowling team competed at was in Topeka at Centennial League. The boys finished in ninth place with a score of 2128. The only boy to place individually was junior Dustin Wichman with a score of 641. The girls finished in 11th place with a score of 2071. Miller finished in sixth place with a score of 613 and freshman Alex Newell finished in 17th place with a score of 540.

The next time the MHS bowlers compete will be today in Junction City and on Friday at Regionals.
