With the Winter Play finally finished, the Manhattan High drama department is already moving on to their next production. “A Rehearsal for Murder” is a murder mystery with a small cast. Because the number of actor is so small, auditions might seem nerve-wracking. However according to junior Noah Shirk, that isn’t the case.

“When I was younger — freshman and sophomore year — I was really nervous about it but now that I’ve gotten a couple of them in there it’s not bad at all now. It’s just reading for me,” Shirk said.

After a short and casual rehearsal process, Shirk says that he has high hopes for this production.

“Auditions went really well,” Shirk said. “We just read some short scenes, 30 seconds or so and David Allington would tell us what changes he wanted us to make, he would give us a different scene to work on, we would come back and do the same thing. I’m really excited for this show. There are a lot of talented people that came up to audition today.”
