A class competition, "the battle of the beaks" leaves biology student teacher Tyler Heiying picking up a mass of macaroni shells. The friendly competition allowed students to gain a more in-depth understanding of survival of the fittest, teams of students raced to see who could grab the most shells with different tools. "He’s working hard right now to finish up his unit," said biology teacher Brad Fabrizius about Heiying, "his strengths definitely are being very patient, open to suggestions but I like that he teaches at a slow pace."
