Trump fires FBI Director

 

Based on allegations that FBI Director James Comey mishandled the investigation regarding former secretary of state and democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, President Donald Trump removed him from office last Tuesday. Trump plans to fill the position with one of the contenders to be interviewed later this week.

 

South Korea elects liberal president

 

Following the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye, South Korea elected Moon Jae-in as her successor last Tuesday. The new liberal president supports an open policy with North Korea, amongst many other changes for the nation.

 

Cyber-attacks impact Microsoft computers

 

A defect in Microsoft Windows computers have allowed a virus to damage inner systems. The virus overtakes control of stored files and demands $300 for the owner to regain access.

Over 200,000 computers from 150 countries have been impacted as of Sunday.

Ancient Egyptian burial chamber uncovered

 

The Egyptian city of Minya was home to a human burial site that was uncovered by archaeologists who addressed the finding in a news conference on Saturday. The site held 17 mummies, which were determined to be approximately 1,500 years old.
