Musical and visual artist

“When did you know art was something you wanted to pursue?”

“I guess it was just a thing that I did. I’ve always drawn even when I was little. …[For band] I started in sixth grade on my flute. My mom’s flute actually. Since then I’ve just loved it and haven’t been able to put my flute down.”

“Do you have a preferred [visual] art medium or platform?”

“Definitely watercolor is my strong suit, but I also do sketches in my sketchbook. … Recently I’ve been practicing painting faces a lot, but I also paint jellyfish way too much.”

“Are you interested in pursuing art as a career?”

“Well, I guess technically music is an art, so that’ll be my kind of art that I go into. … Either music performance or education, I haven’t decided quite yet, but I definitely want to take art classes in college because I love that kind of art as well.”

“What do you think art does for you personally?”

“It is, honestly, a stress reliever because when you go home and finish your homework, what do you do with the rest of your day? You paint, or you play your flute.”
