Athlete of the week: Carson Marsh

Micheal Simmons, Sports Editor

Every senior athlete feels the pressure during their senior night, as the attention is all on them.  For some seniors the pressure just improves their performance, such as senior Carson Marsh. Marsh was a key component in helping the Indians defeat the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds on Friday, as he was consistently draining 3-pointers.

“It got my confidence going a lot,” Marsh said. “It always feels good when you hit a three and the crowd just goes nuts and stuff. I just shot confident the rest of the night.”

Marsh has been a key player consistently throughout the season. Marsh currently averages six points per game, along with two assists per game. Marsh also has an average of 40.82 percent from the arc.

Marsh’s skills continue to show as he scored 18 points in the Junction City game and 16 points in the Shawnee Heights game. His consistent accuracy from behind the arc is one of his best attributes as they account for 53 percent of his points.
