Athlete of the Week: Ella Rosenkranz

It’s rare for underclassmen to compete in Varsity  sports, but to be in the top 10 for a state or school record is unheard of. Sophomore Ella Rosenkranz participated in the 4×1600 girls relay team which ended up having the sixth-best time in state history, and second for a school record.

“For the rest of my high school career I would like to make it to state in a relay or individual event this year,” Rosenkranz said. “And I would like to keep moving up the ranks in the mile and 2 mile over time. Perhaps next year I could become a leader on the team.”

Not only did Ella Rosenkranz already become part of a team that made history, but they are well on their way to doing it again. The team is on track to break the school record at or before the state competition. While Ella did accomplish this as a sophomore, it was certainly a team effort. “I couldn’t imagine running with a better group of people,” Rosenkranz said. “They’re all so welcoming and talented. These qualities are incredibly important to how much success we have. They help to push and motive me each and every practice  we have together.”

Rosenkranz will compete with the same girls on Friday.
