Sophomore Abbie Geering is a smart, athletic, hard worker and an honest person. She is a diamond in the rough at Manhattan High School.

Geering’s academic interests are AP Science, Journalism, and Gender and Ethnic Studies. She likes these classes the most because she can apply them to the real world. Geering’s favorite sport is cross country.

“It’s given me so many friends, but then also a place to just relax and not have to worry about school or other people and expectations,” Geering said.

Geering is also known for her team spirit. She is a strong believer in people making the team better and not one person. She always strives to do her best in everything she does, not for others, but for herself.

“You can get over other people’s expectations of you, but you can’t ever escape yourself,” Geering said. “So, like, your expectations are always going to be there.”
