Ava Gary-Hernandez, Photographer
Story By MK Mallean
Senior Ava Gary-Hernandez is a third-year photographer and staff member for the Mentor. Hernandez has continued to participate in Manhattan High School media for the last three years because she is invested in photography.
“I am excited for my final year. I hope to leave a mark on the mentor,” Hernandez said.
Along with the mentor, Hernandez enjoys being a teacher’s assistant for Mr. Livingston, helping decorate the classroom and organize materials. Outside of school, she does even more photography, goes to the gym and catches up on sleep.
She is originally from Wyoming and moved to Manhattan in 2023, her freshman year of high school. “The views and people of Manhattan are unforgettable”, Hernandez said.
Hernandez’s defining qualities include being very good at talking, calling herself “a professional yapper”, being very muscular and being a good listener.
In the future, Hernandez plans to start in nursing and work her way up, possibly attending Colorado State University.
When not focused on school or other extracurriculars, Hernandez takes time to unwind by playing her favorite games.
“I love block blast, I am the best at block blast,” Hernandez said.
