Olivia Howe

Olivia Howe, Staff Writer

Story by Janessa Lee

Olivia Howe is a senior at Manhattan High School. She is a part of the Forensics team.

After she graduates from high school, she plans to study political science in university. She is a firm believer that this degree can help change the world.

“There are a lot of problems in the world I would like to address,” she said.

In her free time, Howe enjoys writing creative stories. Her goal for taking Intro to Journalism and Media is to recognize biased writings.

“In the news there’s a lot of bias, so I figured that I could get a behind-the-scenes look at how the news works,” she said.

Howe is also eager to create stories that have room for the reader’s opinion.

As a junior, Howe took Public Speaking, where she was encouraged to take a journalism class.

This year, Howe is excited to be working on the news column.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in this class, and hopefully [to] meet a lot of new people,” she said.
