After continuous practicing for their long awaited season, boys golf began with their first meet last Monday for a home invitational at Manhattan Country Club.

“We won our home invite last Monday,” senior Cody Begnoche said.

Since there have only been two meets, the team still has a long season ahead. More and more practicing is essential for a great season, but team members have high hopes based off of the progress they have already made.

“I mean, we’re getting better each day,” Begnoche said. “We’re trying to get there and hopefully we can compete for our region and trying to win it and everything.”

The boys golf team will now focus on preparing and improving for their next meet, which will be hosted at the Topeka Country Club on April 22.
