Red Cross field trip postponed

Manhattan High’s Red Cross Club postponed their field trip to the fire station headquarters last Wednesday because of the WorkKeys assessment, causing conflicts for those who planned to take the test and go on the trip.

“[We rescheduled] because of the testing days,” senior vice president Logan Linenberger said. “We didn’t realize that those were the same days and we ended up not getting as many people as we thought.”

Red Cross planned on visiting the station to see a different side of medicine and learn about firefighters procedures and responsibilities.

“We were going to do a tour and talk to the chief and firefighters on shift about their daily routines,” Linenberger said.

They plan to reschedule for as soon as possible and are excited to be able to see a different part of the medical field.

“[The reschedule date is] mostly going to depend on when we can get a van again,” sponsor Clancey Livingston said. “Hopefully within the next couple of weeks.”
