Trivia! Senior Jonathan Moon runs up on stage and answers trivia questions for the crowd. During breaks or anytime contestants were taking too long in the Mr.MHS show., trivia games went on or jokes were told to help time pass.

WHIPPED! Senior Lake Rodriguez along with some others gets pied in the face as a punishment for not getting a task done first. With still so much more to face, Rodriguez got the runner up award for the Mr.MHS talent show.

Short Time! Senior Lake Rodriguez puts a baby toy together with the stress of only using tongs. Though Lake did not win this portion of the Mr.MHS show he got the opportunity of getting pie thrown in his face for not being first.

Baby Toys. The Mr.MHS contestants having a competition on who can put the pieces together fastest with tongs. After about a minute a minute a winner was selected after a tie happened, Patrick Huser!

The Alter Ego. Senior Fabion Gomez impersonates Mr. Anderson for the “Alter Ego” portion of Mr.MHS. Among all of the other impersonations, this was by far the most colorful and energetic.

Scream or Sing? Junior Gabe Morla sings “Thinking out loud” by Ed sheeren for his performance in Mr.MHS. While singing Gabe messed would joke around with the crowd by singing off key anytime he messed up a lyric.

A Fish?! Senior Lake Rodriguez makes balloon animals for the “talent” portion of the Mr.MHS show. After numerous other amazing animals, Lake questioned why people would even consider the thought of wanting a balloon fish and made it anyways.

The Art of Disappearing. Senior Fabricio Gomez performs magic tricks for his performance during the Mr.MHS show. After guessing everyones cards correctly he gave a “final” show by throwing cards up in the air and sprinting off stage before anyone can see.

One sock Two sock. Senior Wilson Wech does sock puppeting for the Mr.MHS crowd. After later getting on the ground to hide his face, he then took off his other sock to become another puppet. Some very emotional sock puppets.

Senior Ava Gary-Hernandez is a third-year photographer and staff member for the Mentor. Hernandez has continued to participate in Manhattan High School media for the last three years because she is invested in photography.
“I am excited for my final year. I hope to leave a mark on the mentor,” Hernandez said.
Along with the mentor, Hernandez enjoys being a teacher’s assistant for Mr. Livingston, helping decorate the classroom and organize materials. Outside of school, she does even more photography, goes to the gym and catches up on sleep.
She is originally from Wyoming and moved to Manhattan in 2023, her freshman year of high school. “The views and people of Manhattan are unforgettable”, Hernandez said.
Hernandez’s defining qualities include being very good at talking, calling herself “a professional yapper”, being very muscular and being a good listener.
In the future, Hernandez plans to start in nursing and work her way up, possibly attending Colorado State University.
When not focused on school or other extracurriculars, Hernandez takes time to unwind by playing her favorite games.
“I love block blast, I am the best at block blast,” Hernandez said.
