Athlete of the Week: Will Carpenter

What is your favorite part about playing Basketball? 

“My favorite part about playing basketball is working with my best friends to go win games. I’ve known my teammates for years and I’m blessed to have them along my side.”

When did you start playing Basketball?

“I’ve been playing basketball since I could walk. There’s a video of me at 2 years old dribbling a ball around my house. My first team though was when I was in first grade.”

What is your favorite memory about playing basketball this season?

“My favorite memory has to be my game winner last year against Hays. That was super fun and a memory I’ll never forget.”

Who do you look up to — if anyone — in the basketball world?

“LeBron James has always been my favorite player and idol, but I’d say I look up to Steph Curry’s game though. Being an undersized guard I’ve learned a lot watching.”

What do you look forward to in your basketball career?

“I look forward to finishing out my senior season and achieving all our goals we set at the beginning of the year. I don’t know if I’ll be playing next year so I’m just taking it all in as we go.”
