10 movies and TV shows to be on the lookout for in 2016

  1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The first movie after the Disney take over, Star Wars introduces new characters and includes the return of several in an epic seventh film.
  2. Insurgent. The second movie to the Divergent trilogy, Four and Tris are now fighting to protect the other factions and their people
  3. Pitch Perfect 2. A continuation of the first Pitch Perfect, the acapella group extends to the World Champion Acapella competition.
  4. Inside Out. An original animated Disney film, Inside out wasn’t just for kids and reached the teenage and young adult crowd with the cute factor.
  5. Mockingjay Part 2. Another book trilogy continued, part two ties up all loose ends by the end of the movie and Katniss Everdeen’s influence is as strong as ever.
  6. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. The popular actor Dylan O’Brien stars in the second Maze Runner movie, the Gladers have made it out of the maze and must now overcome challenges.
  7. Furious 7. After the tragic death of Paul Walker, the seventh movie was finished and released in his honor.
  8. The Martian. Based off of the book, the martian is about a man traveling to space and discovering new things about Mars.
  9. Selma. A powerful tribute to Martin Luther King, Selma tells the story of the man who had a dream.
  10. Jurassic World. After the escape of a highly intelligent dinosaur within the Jurassic World Resort, Chris Pratt as an animal expert and military man must save the people of the resort.
