Step 1. Verify that you are able to vote. In order to do this you have to send in, fax or hand deliver a driver’s license or a non-driver’s license identification card that verifies citizenship.

Step 2. Fill out personal information. There are plenty of websites online where you can fill out applications of your information.

Step 3. Review and Submit. Send in everything that is required and then you can vote.

Step 4. After you submit, you will receive a certificate of verification. Along with this certificate is the location of where to vote.

Step 5. Find where you want to vote. There are listings in newspapers of addresses that hold polls on or near Election Day.

Step 6. Know when Election Day is. You have to be registered by Oct. 18 if you want to vote in the general election in November.

Step 7. If you want to vote in the Kansas primary, you must be registered by Aug. 2.
