Hawaiian volcano eruption lasts for weeks

 

Since last month, the Hawaiian Kilauea volcano has been streaming molten lava into the Pacific Ocean. This reaction and the debris it produces may create new land around the area. According to experts and authorities, the people in the surrounding communities are not in danger. However, the United States Geological Survey determined the rising instability of the affected seacliff on Wednesday.

Romanians protest against emergency ordinance

 

Since Jan. 31, protests have broken out throughout Romania against a ruling that will release several of the nation’s convicted public officials as well as hindering future prosecutions. The haste of this decision further drives protesters to demand a call for action, as the decree is to be enforced on Feb. 10.

Homeland Security and Federal Judge impede travel ban enforcement

 

As of Friday, Federal Judge James Robart stopped the implementation of President Donald Trump’s refugee travel ban throughout the country. Consequently, the Department of Homeland Security announced its suspension of any enforcement of the ban as well. In response to this action, Trump openly reviled Robart and the ruling via his Twitter account.

Patriots win first overtime Super Bowl
Sunday’s Super Bowl ended with a victory for the New England Patriots, who defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history. This also marked quarterback of the Patriots, Tom Brady’s fifth Super Bowl win, making him the first quarterback in N.F.L. history to achieve that number of wins.
