Salina Invitational ends with rain cancellation

A beautiful day in Manhattan did not translate to our neighbors to the southwest as it was a stormy day in Salina for the girls golf tournament, culminating in a cancellation due to lightning. However, there were enough holes played to warrant results, the Lady Indians finished first place lead by seniors Macie Myers and Delaney Wisdom. Myers finished fourth and Wisdom finished just two points behind in fifth.

“For me,” Wisdom said. “I was definitely a little disappointed since I only had two holes left and had been playing somewhat decent.”

The lightning struck the course late in the day, and while many of the girls had finished their games, some still had a few holes left. The tournament directors decided to take the scores through the first 14 holes and put the team scores over par to determine the winning team.
