Girls Golf competes in Washburn Invitational

After a short stretch off, the Indians girls golf team took to the course to compete at Wamego for the Washburn Rural Invitational on Sept. 21.

The Indians finished in fourth place with a team score of 371. Senior Macie Myers finished in fourth place individually, shooting a 79.

“Macie played great today and was able to stay out of the trees on the back nine,” Head Coach Chris George said. “It was nice to see her get back to her usual form, especially on a tough course and against some of the best competition in the state.”

George was proud of all the girls today but still found room for improvement.

“All the girls had some good holes,” George said.  “But teamwise we still need to improve our consistency heading into league, regionals, and hopefully the state tournament.”

The Lady Indians have a quick turnaround as they prepare to compete at the Lawrence Invitational at Eagle Bend on Sept. 27.
